Saudi Arabia’s solar targets
Saudi Arabia will need to tap into every available resource to meet its target of 41 GW of solar generation by 2032, enough capacity to meet almost a quarter of Saudi Arabia´s electricity demand. The program´s initial bidding rounds beginning in 2013 could result in some of the lowest prices for solar electricity, but the real, long term success will be measured in its ability to lay the foundations of an industry that can create a future pipeline of jobs and opportunities for the Kingdom´s citizens.
PV projects in Brazil
With new net metering regulations for smaller scale residential and commercial systems and a reduction of 80% in the taxes charged on larger scale applications, Brazil looks set to rival other South American countries in its take up of PV. High-visibility projects at Brazilian football stadiums, ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup are also acting as ambassadors for the technology.
